I can remember collecting pens, pencils, brushes and paints from a very young age, but I never used them, I just knew I wanted to paint and draw. As I am primarily self taught I understand the frustration of attending classes and workshops where the teacher would assume I knew particular aspects of painting and drawing leaving me to flounder and fluster in the class. I understand a students frustration when they are first learning or even taking those steps forward to increase their knowledge and it is my aim to take that frustration and convert it into excitement and achievement. Taking each student as an individual and teaching them as one on one in a classroom environment at their own pace gives students the ability to learn, create and enjoy painting and drawing under their own terms. Not all students are created equal and my goal is to harvest each individuals skills and enhance and teach them so they can achieve their own goals. My passion is working in pastels, however, as a teacher I work and teach in all mediums and love them all. Art makes my heart sing….. Karen
