How long is a BLOCK? A BLOCK is generally 4 weeks, however, some BLOCKS have 5 classes Does the BLOCK run in exact calendar dates of the month? NO, generally a BLOCK will run during the dates of a calendar month, however, depending on other events happening in the studio this may not be true calendar dates. For example in 2024 we have a Painting Retreat in October so therefore the dates for the BLOCKS are not indictive of a true month as no classes are held in the studio as we will be away. Please check the calendar of classes for exact timing for each month. What if I miss a class in my BLOCK? Missed classes can be made up on ANY of my regular class days and time slots within the same BLOCK. Missed classes cannot be rolled over to another BLOCK. What Happens if I miss making up a class within my BLOCK? If you cannot make up your missed class within your BLOCK you will forfeit your payment for that class. Do I have to paint what the class is doing? NO, Each BLOCK is "themed" with a subject to paint or draw. The "theme" is OPTIONAL, however, most students will use these "themed" BLOCK to learn more about their art. Do I bring my own materials or are they included? Unless specified for a specific class or workshop you need to bring your own materials. I can recommend a materials list for you if you Are unsure what to bring or what to purchase. YES, however, I am NOT wheelchair compliant and you will need to be relatively self sufficient. I have a safe and supportive environment. Please contact me if you have any questions and I can suggest a class or workshop which would suit to ensure a smooth transition into class. What is the difference between a BLOCK of classes and a WORKSHOP? BLOCK Classes run on a weekly basis during the allocated dates of each BLOCK. Each Class runs for 3hrs with an optional "Theme" each BLOCK. My classes are designed to give students a lecture / demonstration on the "theme" for that month at the first class and then allowing students the following 3 or 4 classes to practice what they have learned with me teaching and assisting along the way. My classes are designed to be progressive, so that you can confidently move from one level to the next, knowing that you have all of the skills you need to advance to the next stage. Workshops range from 1 to 2 days and are designed to cover a particular subject or design in depth. Everyone usually completes the same project or uses the same technique which is being taught. Please read the description of the workshop you are interested in before enrolling. Workshops are a once off event and are held at various times throughout the year, both during weekdays and weekends. How soon do I need to enroll and pay? Positions are limited for each day and time slot. The sooner you pay and enroll the better your chances are of securing the time slot you desire. I wish to become a recurring student, how and when do I pay? If you are wishing to become a recurring student attending regularly each BLOCK you need to advise me of your intention to do so. If you have indicated you are a recurring student you need to pay for your upcoming BLOCK the week prior to the BLOCK commencing. If you are not going to attend one of the BLOCKs you need to advise me no later than 2 weeks before the BLOCK commences so that position can then be put up for a casual attendee during that particular BLOCK. When should I purchase art materials? I recommend that no art materials are purchased BEFORE consultation with me. I will suggest the best brands of materials and advise how you can save money and still have a great painting kit. What should I wear? Please come comfortable in clothes that are not your best in case you get paint on them. I suggest an apron is an ideal inclusion in your kit Can I take photographs or videos in class? In most cases yes, however, please check to ensure what you are photographing is not covered by copyright. What discounts do you offer? My classes are already heavily discounted and extremely reasonably priced. Is the studio a shop or home based? NO it is not far, approx. 10 meters with NO steps. and being homebased my husband very often on hand to assist students with their gear. Do you have a Terms and Conditions page for Workshops?
